Puppy Withdraw, No Lights, Blog Plans

So, today was a bit of an on/off day. Not only did my mom give away the last four puppies, but the lights were off for a few hours during the afternoon. I didn't think all that would happen today, but it did.

On a happier note, I am very excited to say that I have many e-ARCs that I will be reviewing, and the covers! \o/ Amazing! I definitely want to get my skills going up, because what if an author asks me to make their book cover!? That would so cool!

I do not know if I am allowed to share much about this, but one of the books I will be reviewing this Fall is called Sing For Me (Angels and Arias) by Gracie Madison - CLICK HERE - I was so happy I got selected to review this book. This is book one, I believe. It intrigued me, it is NA romance, I think.

I read a book yesterday/today, that I fell in love with. I am working on the review now, and will post it as soon as I finish here. It tickled my fancy. And now I am sure that this particular genre is FOR ME. Hint: Historical Fiction.

Well, that's all for now folks! Harry has awakened!

Raindrops On Roses, And Whiskers On Kittens . . .

Well, today slowly unrolled. Here's how it went.

My mom took four(4) of the puppies out to the street again today, and she got all four of them homes with families. The reason she did not take all eight (8) of them is because two (2) of them have minor leg injuries, and another was hiding, and I had one in my arms.

My dad gave me a loophole today. He said I could make the choice to give up Spike and keep one (1) of the puppies. It's a small crack, but I am determined to open the rest of the window. I already have my favorite and I plan to make a good argument about why I SHOULD KEEP a puppy. And Leo has a special bond with me. I think I have cried about it enough to know that I have not fully healed from a wound from my past about dogs, and . . . . Yeah, it still hurts.

I am also on my way out with a couple of friends, three of my sisters, and we are going to stay the night with them. Now, these friends have been with us through the hardest of times, and I am very grateful that they are my friends. I mean, I am the silent one in the corner with a pen and notebook, but they have always been the best. I don't know if they are reading this, but if you are, you know who you are.

Well, that is all for now. Hopefully for today ;) See you all soon!

"The Puppies Have Gotta Go." - I Might Blow Up.

My parents are getting a little fed up with the puppies. It's not my fault no one in Puerto Rico wants to take on.
They keep crying to be held, and I DON'T have eight (8) arms to hold all of them at the same time. Worse, my dog Spike has been getting much older and showing signs that he might be ready to go soon. He keeps trying to get my attention, and I can't give it to him because I am always busy taking care of the puppies! :(  I love the puppies, and I still wish I could keep them all.
Over the last few days, my mother and I have called every local pet store and animal shelter possible, to see if they could help us find the puppies homes. The only place left is the humane society, and the only thing they do is put animals down. I DON'T WANT that. I don't know what to do, and every time I post pictures of the puppies on my Instagram, the only people interested in taking a puppy are the people in the States.

I live in Puerto Rico! The people here do not want to take in another dog. They already have four and five, or even ten dogs living in their homes. Everything that has happened over the last couple weeks has been nothing but "I can't stand them anymore! When are we giving them away?!" or "Those dogs are causing nothing, but trouble. Let's send them all to the pound!" Doesn't anyone care what happens to dogs when people send them to the pound?! When the pounds has too many dogs, they start killing the older dogs to make space in the kennels.  Which means that is the puppies went to the pound, if they don't get adopted by people who have compassion, they will become the next victims and will lose the chance to have a home! x'(

I did warn you that I might blow up. Quite frankly, it was bound to happen. I apologize that it had to be you to see it. My mom always said I had the habit of speaking and understanding animals. Which is true. I just always know what they want. I can look at Spike, the old dog who is loved by no one else in the house, and see that he just wants someone to be near him. Yes, Spike is only under the roof because of a promise my dad made to an old neighbor. My dad is compassionate when it comes to other people's pets, but apparently not our own. I mean, he likes Bella because she alerts him when people come to the house. And he likes Bruno because we can't say no to him. Spike was living all alone in the neighbor's empty house, with no food and water for who knows how long. When we took him in last year, we didn't think he was going to live another two years, but he is. I rehabilitated Spike. He's probably never had anyone love him the way I have been doing so faithfully over the past two years. Whether anyone else likes to see it or not, Spike has become part of the family, and I don't know how I will react when he goes.

Dogs are my peeve, always have been and always will be.

Again, sorry for blowing up. I just had to get it out somewhere. New posts coming later today, and awesomeness coming to my review blog. See you all later, and God bless! ♥

"You Are A Winner!"

So, last night I was browsing around all of my Net bookmarks, when I came across a giveaway I had been entering every single day for a month.  I won! Well, I am one of the several winners. Here is a screen-shot of the BIG prize list (because there were more on the list, but these were the bigger prizes). I blacked out the names of the other winners.

Now, I did not notice this until a moment ago, but I spelled my name wrong in one of the entries that is what Haddasah H. looks a little strange, LOL.
For the past twelve hours (with the exception of sleeping for nine hours), I have been pulling together a cart FULL of books to spend the $25 A. Gift Card on, for when the gift card is sent to me, which will be this week. Which means I can film an Book Unboxing/Haul video? Hmm . .

Also, to top the AWESOME day off . . . well not really. My mom and I are going to bring the "unclaimed" puppies to the mall to find homes for them. (My dad already had a home for 4 puppies, and then 8 came, which we were not expecting.) I have not spoken about them in a while, but I guess I was grieving? I love dog and puppies, and I do NOT want to give any of them away. BUT I live in a very LARGE household, and we already have the three BIGGER dogs.
Well, that is all I am going to say for now. I have to go change out of PJ's so that I can leave. Blessing to you all, and I will see you later! Ciao!

The First Time I . . .

Be truthful! You know you only started read this post because of the title ;D LOL. Well, I just thought I would share what I am currently reading. My sister (you know who you are!) has owned Sophie Kinsella's Remember Me? book for a LONG time, and I decided to try and read it. . . Again. You see, the first time I read it, was when I was . . . sixteen, and I NEVER read books that were adult-themed. At that time in my life, every time the subject arose, I would drop the book and never go back to it again. The content made me uncomfortable, and I just felt it was better to stay away from it. Now, nearly five years later, I am running out of books to read. I don't want to re-read my 'middle-grade' books, and I want something new. I took a look at my sister's metal book shelf, and it was staring right at me. 'Might as well,' I said to myself, and I picked up the book. I asked my sister to loan it to me, and I am just passed the midway point. I do not remember anything about the from the first time I read it, so this has been quite the experience. And spoiler, I am relating to the main character's mother and her dogs! \o/ Dead serious! It's a nutty thought, but I totally relate to her. Anyways, back to the book. I will be posting my thoughts on this book (maybe) tomorrow, because I have not put the book down until now. Well, that is all for now. Happy reading!

It's That Time Again . . .

I just finished the final part of my short story (prequel) Believe, and I am starting the next short story. I was going to call it 'Found', but then I heard this song for the first time, and I realized it fit. Yes, I only just heard 'All Of Me' by John Legend, but I heard the cover by Collabro. I see the song as and audio version of what my new story is, and I already had the layout before hearing the song. So, with that in mind, I take my leave. New cover for the story, which is below. God bless you, and see you next time!

Levi the puppy says 'Hello!'

I am just sitting here, writing the epilogue to 'Scarred Hearts', and one of the puppies was crying. I knew who it was. You see, Levi is a bit of a momma's boy, and all he wants is to know someone is there. Yes, his brothers and sisters are there, but he is looking for comfort. My mom would kill me if she knew I did this. But I had to let Levi sit in my lap. He's sleeping, and he's not crying anymore. :)

As I was saying, I am working on the epilogue for 'Scarred Hearts', and you guys are going to love it. The story, as I have previously mentioned, is entered in the Wattys2015, and it gave me the boost I hoped for to get the story finished. I do have a book trailer in the making, I am just waiting on the trailer maker to send me the link. I do know how to make book trailers, so if worse comes to worse, I will just do it myself. I was just lacking the inspo to do it myself (and my video editor was being a bugger). I love how this story turned out. I mean, I did start it, like, three years ago, and I had put it on the shelf (so to speak). Bringing it back out definitely has been quite an experience, and I am so glad that I did. There is a possibility that the epilogue will be posted tonight. That is I hope I post it tonight. I like to multi-task . . . Which is just a "fancy" word for "distracted". I am easily distracted.

For instance, I am playing a game of chess (and winning) with my sister while writing this post. Yeah, I may be a bit of an amateur when it comes to the life of an author, and I might lack some focus. But hey! I get the job done.

Yeah, that is all for today. I hope you enjoy the epilogue when I post it, and see you next time! God bless! Ciao!
